BSN Supplements Syntha-6 Protein Bar Review, Bai Malokai Coconut Drink, and Photo Shoot

Guess who just made a protein bar run?! 💪 This girl. Tried my first @bsnsupplements Syntha-6 bar, the Salted Toffee Pretzel flavor was first up. Lord have mercy. It was like a rice krispy treat in protein bar form. 💜 Thank you to my Venus sister Malissa for the recommendation!
👐

Next up was @bsnsupplements Syntha-6 Peanut Butter Crunch bar! Mmm mmm good! 230 cals and 20g protein ✔ Two thumbs up, will buy again 💪💪 So far these bars are two for two. Love that they are a rice krispy texture, great change up from Quest bars.  💜

Tried a @bsnsupplements Syntha-6 Chocolate Crunch protein bar next. Tastes like a cocoa krispy treat! Delicious! 230 cals and 20g of protein too 💪 Good stuff! Super impressed with this line up; so far I am 3 for 3.  💜

If you like rice krispy treats, then I have THE protein bar for you. @bsnsupplements NAILED the rice krispy treat flavor AND texture with their Syntha-6 vanilla marshmallow protein bar. Could not believe it. This bar has 230 cals and 20g of protein. Honesty, all 4 flavors that I tried were 💯%. You literally cannot go wrong in this line up! 💜💪

I tried to think up how I would rank these, and I honestly cannot. They are all GREAT and will definitely be buying them again :)

In other news, these Bai Malokai Coconut drinks have been my new "out and about" drink splurge. SO good! I adore coconut and this drink is coconut in a bottle 💜 macros are good too!

...and finally my most recent photo shoot, been meaning to share! These were all done in Playa del Carmen, Mexico by Erin with Forever Grace Photography- https://m.facebook.com/forever-Grace-Photography-133632556783420/

Venus Veteran Kimberly Shares Her Secrets to Maintenance Success

Kimberly has been using Venus systems for over 5 years and placed in Venus’ very first open contest. I am proud to introduce her up next in our series on successful maintenance.

Kimberly placed in the VT1 Open Category back in 2011
Since 2010, she has continually improved her physique despite health challenges and global relocations. Kimberly knows what it takes to maintain and improve your physique!

So when I thought about interviewing veterans about maintenance, this sweet friend came straight to mind. I have seen her in person and even worked out together; we got to meet in 2014 in Vegas at a Venus meet up. Kimberly looks every part Venus.

Here is what Kimberly has to say-

During the VT1 competition back in Jan to April 2011, I set a goal for myself.  An “Every Day Venus”.  I wanted a body shape and appearance that I could have everyday.  A body that was not dependent on heavy dieting, posing or lighting tricks.  I wanted to learn a way to maintain a look that is athletic and lean….all the time.  There is no doubt Venus has taught me that.

Never Quit - My Playa Del Carmen Shoot

I want to share some images from my shoot in Playa last week, and tell you the story of how I almost did not go. Seriously.

But first, I have been creating lots of exercise videos along with Coach Jenny lately on my YouTube channel, so be sure to subscribe there when you get a chance! Here is a link to my YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM3j1Tr4e1M9E47c3Svx5bw

Here are a couple of videos that were shot in Playa at the resort gym. We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya. I cannot say enough great things about this place, it was better than my honeymoon. Literally ZERO negative things to say.

Dumbbell swings - these are great for the glutes, quads, hamstrings, and shoulders!

Squeeze your glutes as you come up and control the dumbbell coming up with your shoulders.
You can do these with a kettle bell too!

Glute Bridges and Variations

This is the Glute Bridge (bottom video) along with two level up variations. This exercise is amazing for your glutes!

Top left is the next level up - the foot elevated glute bridge.

Top right is the highest level - foot and shoulder elevated glute bridge.

Be sure to squeeze the glutes SO that your hammies don't take over.

Hold it at the end for a pulse of 5 or so for extra burn!

Flyes, a great movement for your chest! Be sure to extend to your full range of motion at the bottom of the movement. Drive the motion with your chest, I have to focus or my arms will take over!

These are Cable Lateral Raises! Great for your shoulders!
I LOVED this cable machine, I want one for my house!

A few shots from my shoot

So I had spent about 12 weeks on a slow deficit for this shoot and vacation. I just wanted to lose about an inch of waist. It had gone well and I was happy when I left the States.

The morning of the shoot, I woke up bloated - up 4 POUNDS and my waist was up 0.25". AND my monthly visitor arrived early. I could see the bloat in the mirror. I was upset after all that hard work to have an unexpected set back. But Coach Jenny was there waiting on me that morning. And it was happening. I was not coming all this way for nothing. Surely we could get some decent shots.

And we did. So... even if you feel like you are not where you should be, do the thing you planned on. There will be some good from sticking to the plan. Finish out what you set out to do.
